Meet Our Artistic Director and Choreographer PAULO ALCEDO
Paulo Alcedo is a talented dancer and choreographer who trained folkdance with the University of the Philippines (UP) Filipiniana Dance Group and jazz/modern dance under Douglas Nierras’ Powerdance Company.
In 2001, Alcedo moved to Hollywood, California, where he was honoured with the EDGE scholarship and trained with the world’s most notable choreographers including Ryan Heffington (Sia), Brian Friedman (Britney Spears), Mandy Moore (La La Land), and Tyce Diorio. Alcedo has danced with numerous dance companies in Los Angeles (i.e., Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Hysterica Dance Company, Commonality Dance Company, Collage Dance Theatre, Strange Company, Hi- Fashion Band, and Oprah Winfrey), toured with the Rosanna Gamson/World Wide, and performed in the music video of “Free Drink Ticket” by Peaches.
Paulo is the current artistic director of Culture Philippines of Ontario and is pursuing a masters degree in Fine Arts in Dance Choreography, Collaboration and Technology at York University.
